Hm, I'm seeing a recurring theme of warm summer sunsets in my photos lately. 

Anyway, below are a couple pictures I took last year. Our peonies have already stopped blooming and I missed the opportunity to take their picture this year.

Copic Markers #2

Some more illustrations with my new markers. They're so fun! These are drawn from Anthropologie catalogues. Every once in a while I get one in the mail, I have a pretty large stack now. You may not expect it from a catalogue but they're full of photography, design, and even craft inspiration. The clothes are cute and artsy too, perfect for practicing fashion illustration.

Summer Sunset

"Russian Textiles"

I talked about this book in my last post, "Russian Textiles" by Susan Meller. It recently came in the mail and is even prettier without the plastic library cover. It's full of lovely, glossy photos of bright patterns (as you can see :). It's even pretty to touch. It's also an interesting read, I learned a lot about the Russian textile industry and the different styles of Russian textile design through history. 

I would definitely recommend it to anyone interested in design and color eye candy.
