Silk Shading

While stitching my first piece I saw other students working on Silk Shading. It didn't particularly appeal to me, tiny needles, one strand of cotton in the needle, fine shading. Even while looking at the RSN website during in the planning stages last spring it didn't appeal to me that much. However, after a couple days into stitching my first silk shaded piece I really enjoyed it! I'm still enjoying it! I'm beginning to have lots of ideas for sweet and girly future projects.

When my piece is finished it will be a carrot with a poem…

"Oh the carrots that bloom in the spring time
I'd rather have carrots than fish
Or pheasants or fowl or even an owl
In fact they are my favorite dish"
